1. Priming the Pad:

- Apply a small amount of cutting compound (such as HD Cut) to the pad in an X pattern.
- Avoid extending the X all the way to the pad’s edges.
- Use a detail spray or other detailing products to help spread the compound evenly.
- For new pads, some detailers prefer to use a spreader tool to ensure uniform distribution of the product.

2. Applying the Pad:
- Set your polisher to a moderate speed, such as speed setting 2 or between the third and fourth settings.
- Start with light pressure and gradually increase as needed.
- Work in overlapping, back-and-forth passes with smooth, even motions.
- Let the weight of the tool itself provide part of the pressure for consistent results.

- **Finishing:** After correcting the paint, switch to a finishing pad and a finer polish to achieve a deep, high-gloss finish.
